A village market is an important place in a village. It gives opportunity to the village people to sell their goods and to buy their necessaries. It usually sits on the bank of a river or at the junction of roads or in an open place under a large tree. Some village markets sit daily. Some village markets sit once or twice a week. The number of permanent shops is very small. The people of the surrounding villages come there as buyers and sellers. The rice shops sit at a place, the cloth shops sit at a place, the vegetable shops sit at a place and the fish shops sit at a place. It is not very easy to buy things in a village market. The shop-keeper never tells his customers the exact prices of their things. They usually demand much higher price. The deal is settled after much higgling and bargaining. So there is a great noise in a village market
