The Editor,

The Statesman,

Calcutta-700009

Sir,

I would like to request you to kindly allow me to express my view through the columns of your esteemed daily about the frequent advertisements that interrupt important television programmes.

I am interested in some Bengali serials, Khas Khabar and Bengali films. But gradually I am losing interest to enjoy these programmes due to the superfluity of advertisements. When an incident reaches its climax, suddenly an advertisement for detergent soap, hair oil or toothpaste appears. Advertisements break the continuity in the programmes. Advertisements may be placed before and after each programme.

In view of this fact, the authority concerned is requested to look into the matter and take the necessary steps.

Dated, 10th August 1920

Yours faithfully

Durga Das.
