Rains in Tripura

[Agartala, the capital of Tripura-hills and forests-winds appear from the Bay of Bengal-clouds suddenly from Bangladesh-cool down the hot plains-a mysterious spectacle of the rains and winds conclusion]

Tripura, a picture-like tiny state of India, is very rich in its forest wealth and natural spectacle. Agartala is the capital of Tripura. Bangladesh is standing on its east border and there are hills and mountain ranges on its west and from the north to the south. The plains of Assam are found across the dense forests and hills. Winds appear here from the Bay of Bengal through the plains of Bangladesh at any time of the year at high speed. Darkening the blue sky of Tripura within a few minutes, clouds suddenly appear from Bangladesh and it begins to rain cats and dogs. Clouds appear mainly from the east side and wash away the trees and plants and the plains of Tripura as it happens in West Bengal. The rivers of Tripura become turbulent in the rainy season and overflow their banks.

Besides the rainy season, unseasonal rains are very common in Tripura. Sometimes the rain appears suddenly and goes on for a few minutes. The sky over Tripura becomes blue again and the change of weather comforts the people of Tripura. The seasonal and unseasonal rains cool down the hot plains and fertilize the -agricultural land of Tripura. So rains are desirable to the cultivators but excessive rains sometimes bring about a flood that causes great distress for the people. A mysterious spectacle of the rains and winds in the hills and Forests appears to be enjoyable in Tripura. In summer, Tripura becomes too hot to bear with but at the time of rain one can feel the coolness as well as can enjoy a unique and charming natural view on sitting by the window of one's cottage. However, in spite of excessive rain and flood for her geographical conditions, rains are blessings for the people of Tripura.
