None can live in this world without doing any work and any kind of work requires labour, either manual or intellectual. When any work is done with one's own hand by applying physical force, it is regarded as the manual labour and when any work is performed with intelligence by applying brains, it is regarded to be the intellectual labour. But no labour is mean (ga) or low in our life. Some people belonging to middle class and upper class look down upon the manual labour and they take the manual labour for a prestigeous issue. They consider the manual labour to be undignified (afinĉa). But it is a wrong notion (2841) of the people because in our family, society, country even in the greater world both the manual and the intellectual labour are altogether essential.

Both the labours are at the root of all progress. A farmer or a worker is as useful as a teacher or a lawyer. None should be neglected (10 ) for his profession (Col). In the world, there are many examples of great men who have performed their duties by working with their own hands through the manual labour. The great religious reformer, Martin Luther, used to do his works with his own hands. For teaching a foppish (771529) youngman Vidyasagar carried his luggage (61159) like å porter (a). Gandhiji has taught us the dignity of labour.

. An engineer chalks out (fageal FC) a plan for building a factory and the manual labourers bring it to reality ( ) and the production of the factory largely depends on the manual workers. So manual labourers are the backbone of a country. Any kind of developmental works is done by the manual labour as well as by the intellectual labour unitedly. So the dignity of labour should be appreciated (*&$) everywhere as 'work is worship.
