What it means—types of work children have to do-a cruel practice but it saves many families from starvation- conditions that need to be created for bringing an end to it.

 Child Labour

In a poor country like ours, people send their children to work at the factory, at small scale industry and at tea stall etc for financial benefits. Children invest their labour in these working places. This is called child labour.

There is a system for everything. If anything is done unsystematically it will surely have had effect. Childhood is the time of playing, reading, singing and walking. Generally, children have nothing to do or think about their family. But somebody sacrifices their childhood to earn for their family. Belonging to a very poor family they invest labour in different working firms. Thus being helpless and hopeless they cannot build up their career. It is poverty that takes away all their dreams and childhood from them.

Children are the future citizens of a country. Without proper education, none can build up his career. The child labour system is a great loss for a country. We should not be indifferent to this cruel system. A means should immediately be found out to stop this cruel practice for our society.

Child Labour

[What it means-types of work children are to do-a cruel practice but it saves many families from starvation-conditions that need to be created to bring the practice to an end.]

The child is the future of a family as well as of a nation but the children. in our country below the age of eighteen are working in different places, such as, factories, fields, construction works, tea-stalls, restaurants, hotels etc. as labourers. Such type of labourers are called child-labour. They are to work hard beyond their capacity to maintain their families. Some uneducated poor parents, who cannot make both ends meet anyhow, allow their children to earn something for maintaining their families and child-labours are preferred in many working places as they work for a little wages . It is really an inhuman cruel practice though it saves many families from their starvation.

.Hard, labour and insufficient food make them weak and unhealthy physically and mentally. Sometimes they are attacked with various diseases and fall a victim to death. Some of them, who are to go to their working places instead of schools and colleges, sometimes become anti-social elements devoid of culture. So child-labour should be regarded as a social evil and it should be removed by any means.

The World Trade Organisation thought over the problem. The International Labour Organisation has taken programmes on it. Many Non-Government Organisations have held a number of meetings and seminars but all the plans and programmes have gone in vain. An act was formed in 1983 in India for the refusal and controlling of child labour. In 1992 India signed a bond containing a few proposals for learning, playing and protection of the children but the problem is still as it is. As the problem is deep-rooted it should be dealt with deeply and carefully. Nearly fifty percent people of in India live below the poverty line and about two crores of child labours are working in India. The Government of our country has taken a few steps like compulsory free education up to class XII and banning child labour from industries. But unless the parents realise the future of their children and well-to-do educated persons consider them to be their own children, this grave problem will not be solved in any way.
