Kaji Nazrul Islam
KAJI NAZRUL ISLAM was born at churulia in the
district of Burdwan in 1899. He came of a very poor family. His father`s name
was Kazi Fakir Ahmed and his mother was
Jaheda Khatoon. His father died when he was only eight years old. He had to give up studies and became ‘ Imam’ of a MOSQUE .He had to struggle hard
throughout his life. He had a great
devotion for motherland. He inspired thousands of people to fight against the
British.He wrote many patriotic songs. His poem
‘Bidrohi’ inspire men and women
in Bengal. This great poet and freedom fighter was attacked with a serious
brain disease in1942. More then thirty years after he passed away.
